I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss the Lace House. We’ll just have to relive the magical times and photos we had while it was open, and enjoy all the other beautiful gems in Columbia until they finish their renovations!
Say what you want, but for the the State House never gets old.
There are so many ways to photograph couples here! Light and airy. Dark and moody, and sometimes you don’t even know you’re at the State House at all!

Sometimes everything goes according to plan. Sometimes the weather shows a 20% chance of rain, but doesn’t specify that it could be a huge dark ominous cloud that contains torrential rain and lightning. Thank goodness this sweet couple was gracious enough to roll with the punches the weather threw at us. We managed to get a few minutes of photos in before the storm, but then ran up the white flag, and rescheduled. I’m so glad we did through because our second date was absolutely beautiful.
What’s your favorite block on Main street? Personally, I’m a little biased to the stretch of Main between Taylor and Blanding. Right outside places like Mast General, Lula Drake, and the Nick are all right there are ready to be fabulous spots for an engagement session. Here are just a few of our favorites!
Columbia is such a gem for session locations. It’s an old city that’s ever changing and evolving. 7+ years ago, I’m not sure I’d recommend a session on Main Street but today, it’s definitely top of my list.
