Want to know the secret to great engagement photos? It's simple and can be summed up into two words. 

Let go. 

Let go of all your worry, stress, and anxiety and enjoy that time with your photographer. If you can do that, you will absolutely nail it :)  Be willing to have fun, try silly things, smile more than you feel is necessary, giggle more than you would normally, and stop thinking about everything you have to get done later that day.  It's all about letting go and enjoying the moment. 

So, now that you've had our engagement lesson, here is a session!  Claudia and Ryan really had fun, really let go, and we think it showed.

Being located in the heart of Downtown Columbia has it's advantages.  One of them being that we have a beautiful backdrop right outside our door!  We were excited to start working with this wonderful couple on their wedding journey.  It's always fun to see how different couples interact, and Meredyth and Smith were just plain fun. LeeAnn and Pete are so much fun together.  I always love it when clients surprise us with fun little tidbits about themselves.  Things you never would have guessed on your own.  It just goes to show you that you should never try and come to a conclusion about someone before really talking and getting to know them.  We are really excited about LeeAnn and Pete's wedding.  It's just around the corner too!  Here are a few that we loved from their session.​

So, it might be a little late to put you in the holiday spirit, but we are finally happy to put up a few images from Ashley and Mitch's engagement session.  With our extremely busy end of the year last year, we got just a tad behind on our blog.  Something we've been working hard to fix :)  We worked with Ashley and Mitch on their engagement session back in December, and decided to embrace a little of the holiday spirit in their engagement session by heading out to the Christmas tree stand, and lighting a tree on the lot.  It really was fun, and we loved working with Ashley and Mitch.  Enjoy!

Our Studio! Finally!

After 3 months in our studio, we finally got around to taking some photos of it.  Located in the Vista in downtown Columbia, SC, our space is one big room with a lot of character.  It is about 1000 sq.ft. that we have loosely divided into a meeting space and actual photo studio. Though we don't hold normal business hours since we could be away shooting at any given time during the week, we are in the studio a lot during the week for meetings, studio shoots, and post processing work.  It is always nice to get out of the house and this is a great place to be during the day. With the studio comes new work and we are quickly getting into headshots, studio portraiture, and newborn portraits. We love lighting and for us this is the perfect setting to have fun and explore lighting in a controlled setting, so be on the lookout for some cool new studio work from us!
