Alex and Aussemon - Wedding with By Invitation Only...Event Planning and Design at the South Carolina Lace House

This wedding was so dear to us. Not only did we get to work with some of our favorite wedding professionals, but even better, it was for one of our own. It’s always such a pleasure when a member of the wedding community has their own wedding celebration. This was certainly the case for Alex and Aussemon!

With a pallet of soft pinks and greens against the beautiful Lace House grounds, it was a perfect wedding day minus one tiny little detail…..It. Was. WINDY!

During the ceremony the wind picked up so intensely, you can even see the dust it created in some of the photos! There’s even a photos of Alex wiping his eyes. Dust, or tears? You decide :)

We are so grateful to have worked with this wonderful couple along with these amazing professionals:

Jordan and John Ryan - Wedding at Wavering Place

I will NEVER forget the moment when they said “I do”.

Let me back up a bit and set the scene.

Jordan and John Ryan had their stunning wedding at Wavering Place. With a first look and endless beautiful spots for portraits, we had such a great time wandering and capturing these two before the ceremony. The skies were looking a little dark, but the radar was showing just a small red/yellow dot moving across the map. Their stunning scene was set, and Jordan began her walk down the stairs of Wavering to meet her groom but almost as if every step she took, a raindrop would fall. Another, and then another, until anyone who had an umbrella was using it to find shelter. Even though it started raining, all the guest were so very kind and stayed put to see these two tie the knot. Remember earlier when I said it was an “I do” I will never forget? That’s because as soon as they were announced a terrifying CRACK of thunder echoed through the sky almost as if to say “Amen!”. You can see the look and laughter on both Jordan and John Ryan’s face as it certainly surprised everyone, but also made us all laugh. After that thunder crack, you can see the skies opened the floor gates and the rain really took off. Luckily it was a strong but short shower and before we knew it, the sun was back just in time to welcome them into their first dance.

Now I remember the ceremony, but cannot for the life of me explain the subsequent photos. I’ll leave the Clemson Tiger and Cocky photos for you to decide for yourselves what’s going on ;)

Amanda + Cory - Wedding with Alexandra Madison Weddings at the Columbia Museum of Art

Amanda and Cory had one amazing wedding day. From getting ready and portraits at the fabulous Hotel Trundle, to Ceremony and Reception at the stunning Columbia Museum of Art.

The day was full of beautiful details and color and fabulous moments like…helping bustle the brides gown and handing my camera off to the catering captain who grabbed a photo of Josh taking a photo of me. There were so many fun moments throughout the day, and we were thrilled to be part of it all!

Leslie + Parker - Wedding at Forest Lake Club, Columbia, SC

Being a wedding photographer can often times mean going far beyond taking photos. Sometimes it’s knowing how to bustle a gown. Other times it’s as simple as carrying a pair of tiny scissors in your bag because lord knows how many times in one day a group of people needs a pair of scissors!

On this particular wedding day we carried another tool that just so happened to be bolt cutters. Yes.

Bolt cutters.

Why you ask? Because of a long standing tradition on the grooms side of the family to padlock a chain around the grooms neck with no key and no intention of taking it off until after the festivities were over. We were warned, and we came prepared.

Leslie and Parker’s wedding day was just pure fun. From getting ready, to photos on the trolley and an INSANE reception, we had a blast and it was truly one to remember.
