Horses and puppies and barns. Just a few things that make an engagement session in the country so much fun. When we pulled up to the barn and saw Ashley's horse Tucker I literally did a double take at his eyes. They were wide open and steel blue. Then I immediately pulled my phone out to google "horse eye" to make sure of two things. #1 that I wasn't going crazy, and #2 that I hadn't been living a lie about how horses eyes looked. Turns out I'm not crazy (in this instance) and that I have not been living a lie (in regards to the aesthetics of a horse).
Ariel - a birthday shoot
When Jamie came to us wanting to do a special session for her daughter's 16th birthday, we couldn't resist making it a true sweet 16 shoot. Ariel got to incorporate some of her favorite colors and things (like the Starbucks Frappuccino). Ariel had the wonderful talent of Eyebrow Junkie and Amy Schaming to get her ready for the shoot. Enjoy!
Canvas Pop - A Review... and a contest!
Start with what you know.
What do I know?
I know that as a photographer, I work with professional printing partners to not only fulfill client orders, but for samples, and other prints and canvases that we give to other vendors for display. I also know that wading through all the different companies and options online is tedious, and daunting, which is why we were pleasantly surprised when Canvas Pop contacted us! They were super generous and offered to show us what they could do as pictured below.
As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy the process of framing prints, I was super impressed with not just the quality of the print, but in the framing as well. It was really nice to get everything already put together for me (yay!). What really impressed me? That's right, the rubber coated wire and crimping used to hang. As silly as that sounds it's a pretty big deal in my world. Not only does it protect the babiest of baby hands from getting burtally mutilated by other non-coated wire, but it also lets you soar onward and upward past the pit of hell otherwise know as saw-tooth hangers or even worse, the double hangers sentencing the owner of said print to the seventh circle of Dante's Inferno. Double hangers were mentioned right after the windmill...remember?
I also loved the clean design, and the great customer experience we've had working with them so far. Our print shipped quickly and came packaged as tight as Fort Knox to insure nothing happened to our precious first edition.
What I don't know.
Who will win our contest. That's right. A contest.
To enter, use the block below. There are several ways to get an entry (or two...or three...). Just follow the instructions and get on to sweepin!
Oh and even if you don't win, can't wait, or are just looking for a friggin' good deal, we've got something else for you.
Use the code JOSHUAAARON35 for 35% off an order now thru January 30th.

SHANNON + TIM - Anniversary session Downtown Columbia : SC Photographer
We love seeing our couples even after the big day. We can still remember Shannon and Tim's lovely wedding at Magnolia plantation. It was such a beautiful day, and they are such a fantastic couple. One of my favorite things from their day was that their ceremony was early in the morning! Now, we're not really morning people on the regular, but when we do get up early I love everything about the morning. The quiet, the way the light changes, and the way you get to see the world as if it were totally new. Since we were up early and shooting their group pictures we had the chance to use Magnolias huge wall of morning glories. Blue morning glories that opened up just for us. For their anniversary session I think we continued with the unique time and even unique light. Shooting with Shannon and Tim as the sun set on Main Street brought so much gorgeous warm light into their session. It took me back to the morning of their wedding. We hope you enjoy a few of our favorites!
Special thanks to Eyebrowjunkie.com for doing a fantastic job on Shannon's makeup!
